Job Description
  • Brings a software development mindset to perform systems administration activities
  • Works with the Platform Experience team to deliver secure, available, fast and integrated data analytics solutions
  • Works with the engineering team and preferred suppliers/partners to strengthen DevOps processes and drive the automation of Data Analytic platforms
  • Identifies the automation opportunities and builds PaC/IaC pipelines and deploy using CI/CD tools like Github, Bitbucket etc
  • Provides "level 4" support for incidents and tickets escalated from Platform Operations team
  • Works with the engineering team and preferred suppliers/partners to implement cloud-based (cloud native) data analytic platform solutions on premises and on cloud platforms
  • Works with the engineering team and preferred suppliers/partners to implement cloud-based (cloud native) data storage platform solutions for OLAP and analytics workloads, including data lake and date warehouse profiles
  • Works with the data management team, in accordance with their standards, to effectively replicate, integrate and govern data assets which have been loaded into enterprise data hub
  • Works within Agile framework as a scrum team member, taking on features and user stories, to help deliver on sprint team goals
  • Attends daily stand ups
  • Collaborates with teams in delivery planning
  • Works with the teams on upcoming features to identify risks and dependencies

 

  • Previous experience in building DevOps processes
  • Experience with software delivery through CI/CD tools (for example git, gitflow, bitbucket, bamboo, jenkins, concourse, etc.)
  • Fundamental understanding of public cloud services (i.e. AWS, Google, MS Azure)
  • Previous experience as a software developer, data engineer or database administrator
  • Coding experience with Talend and SQL is required
  • Knowledge of data modelling frameworks (Kimball, Inmon) is required
  • Experience in developing and automating PaaS/SaaS platforms is preferred
  • Excellent comms, excellent stakeholder management, collaborative

£350 - £400 per day via umbrella or Limited Company, depending on experience

The salary range/rates of pay is dependent upon your experience, qualifications or training.


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Excellent written and verbal communication skills Technical writing is preferred Cloud adoption mindset is required Previous experience with data acquisition using APIs and Interfaces Previous experience with Snowflake Data Warehouse is preferred Strategic and tactical thinking Design thinking Experience with one or more modern data replication and data integration tools (for example Informatica, IBM DataStage, Talend, CDAP, Attunity, Matillion etc.) Experience with one or more modern advanced analytics tools for machine learning / AI applications (for example Spark, DataBricks, Python, R, etc.) Experience with one or more modern advanced business intelligence & visualization tools (for example Tableau, Looker, PowerBI, etc.) Proficient with Atlassian Suite (JIRA, Confluence) Coding experience with Java and Python is preferred Prior data engineering experience using enterprise systems is a plus. Knowledge of data science and machine learning is a plus.
