Job Description

A recruitment partner of mine who works in the construction industry is currently on the look out for a Purchase Ledger Assistant. This company was started by the two current directors back in 2015. They have grown to 12 consultants’ staff and an office manager. Up until now the account process has been outsourced but they are now looking to bring it back inhouse due to a rapid expansion plan put in place due to 3rd party investments.

Duties of Purchase Ledger Assistant within the Accounts Payable department:

  • Matching, batching and coding invoices
  • Bank reconciliation
  • Making Payments VIA BACS & CHAPS
  • Setting up new supplier accounts
  • Being point of contact for enquiries
  • Processing expenses

A good base of knowledge for this Purchase Ledger Assistant role may include some of the following:

  • Working Excel knowledge (Sums/Lookups and Pivot tables)
  • Good communication skills
  • Currently involved with study in either AAT/ACCA/CIMA
  • 12 months experience working in an Accounts Payable role

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
