Job Description

An Assistant Accountant is required to join a Luxury Retail Business in Central London. This role has been created to cover an upcoming Year End with expected duration of at least 3 months. The Line Manager has mentioned that this business are constantly undertaking new projects so if the successful Assistant Accountant proves themselves within the role then thereis an opportunity to move within the accounting function to assist.

As the successful Assistant Accountant you will be responsible for assisting a team of 8 with the day to day accounting of their various retail outlets. Duties will include:

• Maintenance of both Accounts Payable and Receivable
• To ensure all data is processed accurately and on a timely basis to meet the tight reporting deadlines
• Preparation of monthly financial accounts
• Balance Sheet reconciliations
• Accruals & Prepayments
• Journal preparation & entry
• Support Quarterly VAT Returns
• Allocation of budgeted overheads into different cost centres
• Variance Analysis – Actual vs Budget
• Preparation of reports
• Preparation & maintenance of foreign exchange rates in accounting system

The successful Assistant Accountant will be Part-Qualified in a relevant accountancy qualification (ACCA/CIMA) and ideally have experience working in a similar capacity for another Luxury Retail business.
