Job Description

The Finance Systems Assistant (Aderant) will be responsible for:

* Providing 2nd line support to the IT support desk for all support tickets relating to the firm's Practice Management System (Aderant)
* Assisting Systems Accountant in periodic control reporting to ensure Aderant is recording information accurately
* Deputising for the Systems Accountant in closing financial periods (monthly and annually) on Aderant
* Working with the Aderant support team, issuing and managing tickets for technical issues that cannot be resolved internally
* Providing bespoke information and analysis to the Firm on request via Microsoft SQL, Microsoft Excel and SSRS reporting
* Setting up new joiners on Aderant and maintaining information in accordance with HR's records
* Supporting the finance team by providing on request reporting
* Supporting the finance team by investigating and resolving technical accounting issues
* Assisting the finance team with Microsoft Excel related issues, including Visual Basic for Applications
* Assisting in the development of new tools for the finance team to automate tasks and make processes more efficient
* Participating in finance system related projects providing advice and guidance on finance systems and general practices within finance system processes
* Responsible for monitoring data integrity within Aderant i.e. month end checks

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
The successful Finance Systems Assistant (Aderant): * Minimum of 2 years' experience working within a financial environment with technical responsibilities, preferably in professional services * Investigating and resolving technical issues with a solution focused approach * Prioritising effectively in accordance with the needs of the department and meeting deadlines for critical tasks * Working effectively with other individuals and teams and being receptive to their requirements * Communicating effectively with internal clients and ensuring regular communication is maintained for longer term tasks Systems: * Intermediate / Advanced Microsoft Excel essential * Basic Microsoft SQL essential * Experience in using a Practice Management System a strong preference * SSRS Reporting preferable but not essential * VBA (Excel) preferable but not essential * Microsoft Office
