Job Description

Dual reporting to the Company Board and the UK Group Finance Director, this is a broad role covering the requirements of the firm and its subsidiaries in advising on compliance and the coordination of budgeting, forecasting, reporting and internal & external audit. As such the responsibilities are wide-ranging and influential in supporting the Board in its decisions; the postholder will be a qualified accountant with a minimum of 5 years international and commercial experience ideally covering exposure to a variety of sectors across different jurisdictions and in a commercial setting.

Main Duties include but are not limited to:

• Devise and agree the Group audit programme and timetable in conjunction with all relevant parties and present the plan and audit budget for board approval.
• Communicate requirements to all and take an active role in ensuring that teams remain on track during the process providing advice and support as necessary.
• Coordinate aspects of the audit process as required, including but not limited to consistent approaches and exchange rates for revaluations; inter-company reconciliations and balance confirmations; information required for consolidation exercise.
• Prepare consolidation as required by external auditors and the board.
• Oversee the audit adjustment process to ensure that entity records and opening balances reflect the signed financial statements.
• Advise the board on any legislative requirements that apply to UK companies and prepare briefings for any new and amended requirements to ensure full understanding and compliance.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Candidates will need to demonstrate an understanding of cultural influences on business strategy and practices and distil the effects and possible remedies of diverse practices on the wider group. Experience of financial systems design, implementation and appraisal would be an advantage.
