My client is looking for someone who has the following background,
Qualified Accountant - ACA Big 4 or Equivalent
Someone with a strong internal controls and reporting background
Global consolidations experience would be ideal
Someone who has had a very progressive career to date.
The Role
The successful Assistant Financial Controller must be a qualified accountant (ACA or equivalent) and have a strong academic and technical background and experience working in a large group function.
Key responsibilities:
Coordinating and reviewing the output of the monthly control pack process
Reviewing the follow-up of internal audit points across the business
Helping to review policies and procedures and monitoring the implementation and adherence to such policies across the Division
Assisting with the roll-out of the Group Financial Control programme, to document, test and remediate controls across the Division
Reviewing and rationalising the company structure in each of our countries across the Division, to set up or remove entities from the structure
Dealing with technical accounting questions from the businesses
Oversight of some of the Divisional accounting processes, such as inter-company re-charging, management charges etc.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
The successful Assistant Financial Controller is likely to be a qualified accountant (ACA or equivalent) with a strong academic and reporting background. A strong proven track record of stability and career progression is key. This would suit someone who has worked in an accounting role for a global blue-chip business. This could suit a group accountant or financial accountant looking for a rapid step up.
