The system that this role will cover includes multiple complex product domains that operate at a global scale. The work done in this domain impacts a vast array of teams , functions , roadmaps and ways of working across PokerStars, globally, across many touch points including but not limited to:

  • Commercial teams
  • Product teams
  • Technology teams
  • Marketing teams

Key responsibilities:

As the Director of Portfolio & Change, you will be responsible for implementing, owning and improving processes and ways of working to support, across the product system, a customer centric, outcome led approach to governing our roadmap and supporting change management across the Customer function, with focus on the product system to transform (ideation, prioritization, planning, reporting), achieving outcome alignment and creating visibility of key result and key initiatives progress, which product system areas, will include:

  • Data Products and Technology
  • Marketing product
  • Platform / PAM
  • Sports / Casino / Poker

It is critical that this role actively thinks about how to amplify the impact of the product system on the quality of customer experiences offered by PokerStars, by establishing governance and ways of working which result in improved decision making, which is fact based, outcome focused and transparent.

This particular role has a need for exceptionally strong internal stakeholder management given the number of touchpoints across the whole business. Stakeholders will include executives and other senior leaders throughout the group, who will want that our governance process and ways of working accelerate the realization of target outcomes.

In particular this role will require exceptional stakeholder engagement with the product and technology teams, and knit across vertical teams of Sports, Casino and Poker, as well as teams across the Customer function.

Technical skills

  • Exceptional leadership skills will ensure that you are seen as a role model and able to influence teams and individuals with your knowledge and experience of delivery and Agile ways of working
  • Experienced in Agile programme and portfolio management advocating new tools and techniques to continue innovating delivery ways of working and processes
  • Significant hands-on experience of delivering large, complex programmes in a fast moving online business and will be expert in Lean and Agile product delivery
  • Experienced in leading change in medium to large organizations and have a successful track record of implementing and transforming ways of working at scale

External and market orientation

  • Have interest in organizational effectiveness, process execution focused on impact, change management
  • Demonstrate interest in topics like product system maturity and operating model effectiveness
  • Remain abreast of latest developments in the product and technology delivery to system capabilities
  • Create and bring back to the business market insight on the evolution of product practices within leading digital businesses
  • Bring a deep understanding and experience of product management best practice

Education, qualification & experience:

  • At least 10 years’ experience as a senior leader of a large product organization in a complex company
  • Experience in a senior product or technology role within a fast-paced online / eCommerce organization
  • Experience of creating multi-faceted, multi-year strategies that contribute to commercial performance
  • Demonstrable experience of leading teams to successfully deliver against strategic objectives
  • Extensive experience of stakeholder management, up to and including C-suite
  • Familiar with, and a practitioner of modern approaches to product development methodologies
  • Experience in 5+ major product (or portfolio) releases
  • Experience with 2+ organizations preferred.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to priorities and translate into actionable outcomes and key results
  • Experience in a senior commercial role in an online business
  • Excellent numeracy and analytical skills
  • Experience in managing and leading a team
  • Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills
  • Comfort with basics of running a large team (e.g., hiring, firing, prioritization and allocation, budgeting)

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Establishing and running a process to report against customer focused outcomes, Setting out with clarity progress against and effort committed to those outcomes. Designing, planning, directing, and co-ordinating activities required to implement a fit for purpose portfolio management process and structure. Framing and running the above in a governance framework, which results in adequate planning, prioritisation, approval, and reporting within the product system and as appropriate to senior execs. Supporting change with clarity of purpose, energy and enthusiasm. Acting as an organisational glue across the product system to consistently in a customer centric, outcome led approach, drive ways of working to be consistent, transparent, effective and impactful. Identifying an approach within portfolio which help surface internal & external dependencies and delivery risks & issues. Managing dependencies across functions and shared services. Engaging with colleagues inside and outside the Customer function, particularly with Technology to ensure cross-functional initiatives are delivered and dependencies are managed. Driving a culture of openness and continuous improvement which captures, shares and implements key learnings across the product system. Attracting and retaining talent, ensuring that high performers are continuously challenged. Identifying issues with portfolio structure, cost, risk, inter-dependencies, impact on current business activities and the strategic benefits to be realised. Providing visibility of overall team composition, recruitment status and anticipate future needs based on demand. Supporting the onboarding of new teams across locations as required.
