Job Purpose:

Responsible for the day to day processing of accounts payable transactions accurately and on a timely basis. Supporting of the wider Finance team to positively impact business performance on a local level.

Professional & Technical Experience:

  • Experience in Microsoft Office packages, especially Excel
  • Excellent numeracy and analytical thought processes
  • Client/customer service experience
  • Degree in Business/Accounting/Economics/ etc. desired but not essential
  • Desire to start studying for a professional qualification e.g. CIMA/ACCA

Key Responsibilities:

The majority of time within the role is dedicated to:

  • Receive and verify invoices
  • Take responsibility for ensuring timesheets are entered by studio team in a timely manner and against the correct project jobs
  • Verify that transactions comply with financial policies and procedures
  • Ensure supplier invoices are loaded onto a bespoke system (Maconomy)
  • Maintain listing of accounts payable
  • New employee setup
  • BACS and priority payments
  • Entering freelancer timesheets into Traffic
  • New supplier setup, ensuring all documentation is provided
  • Updating employee holiday onto Traffic
  • Maintain an accurate and up to date filing system for financial documents
  • Carry out other ad-hoc duties as requested
  • Verifying staff expense claims
  • Maintaining strict SOX compliance throughout the department
  • Raising POs accurately and communicating with relevant parties
  • Headcount

Key Success Factors:

  • Willingness to undertake any other duties as may be required from time to time
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines with some flexibility around working hours in these periods
  • Proactive, positive approach to working with all members of the studio team and external contacts
  • Timely and accurate assistance, supporting wider Finance team, impacting business performance on a local level
  • Strength of working relationships – internally across all departments and within the wider WPP organisation
  • Credible and collaborative representative of finance team

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
