Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity, in a growing team, for an individual with bookkeeping and payroll experience who has been working in an accounting and finance department. Operating in a team of finance professionals, duties will include; supporting the management accountant, general accounting duties and being responsible for our internal payrolls. There is good potential for career development and the option to study towards an accounting qualification for the right candidate.

Main duties

• Prepare schedules for the partners WIP and Debtor Reserves
• Post Partners' reserves to CCH and Access
• Produce cost centre summary and post to Access
• Prepare and post month end journals to the ledger
• Download credit card statements and send to Partners, on return of receipts and invoices, analyse on excel and post to Access
• Administration of credit cards
• Ensure weekly time ledger postings are complete
• Agree controls and issue weekly and monthly Cost Centre Summaries
• Responsible for the St Albans office petty cash
• Process and pay employee expenses using BACS software, post to Access
• Post Recharge expenses and ensure time reconciles with Access nominal ledger account
• Setting up new employees on CCH and other ad hoc CCH administration tasks
• Provide assistance to other members of the department when required
• Deal with any queries which may arise from Partners/staff within the firm 
• Raising the firm's internal payroll each month liaising with HR and ensuring employees are paid correctly each month. Preparing year end forms and all other tasks associated with payroll including pensions submissions
