Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Business partnering on finance and accounting issues
  • Contribution towards the preparation of the trial balance and the statutory accounts with regard to grants and payroll. Contribution towards the production of the Consolidation Pack for the Fund. This will involve maintaining spreadsheets throughout the year to generate year-end data 
  • Update and maintain grant statistical reports and provide training thereon
  • Oversee the payroll function including the preparation of a salary budget and maintain the staff complement and staffing statistics
  • Ensuring pension auto-enrolment and re-enrolment works successfully
  • Monitoring the financial aspects of the apprenticeship levy
  • Handling pension queries and informing staff of changes in pension legislation and guidance received 
  • Conversion of payroll data for input into the accounts’ ledger; monitoring and clearing of the payroll suspense account
  • Monitoring and control of staff advances
  • Maintaining the process costing spreadsheets and providing guidance and training on its implications for the rest of the organisation
  • Acting as the first point of contact for relevant statistical information within Finance and the rest of the organisation and responsible for responding to statistical queries
  • Cost insight data, analysis/performance to the Fund
  • Maintaining the Fund Cashflow Models
  • Undertake regular reconciliations of the data on our grant management database
  • Co-ordination of and production of the Quarterly Management Information Pack, when produced
  • Disaster recovery – ensuring that Finance is prepared for a potential disaster and keeping our records up to date
  • Information management and assurance is properly conducted
  • Co-ordinating Finance requirements for the replacement grant management system
  • Assist with investigating fraud allegations
  • To ensure the timely payment of duly authorised grants including transmission of approved payments
