Job Description

The Application Support Analyst role ensures the maintenance of Yorkshire Water's application services are based upon customer centric principles and maintain / enhance the customer experience.

On a day to day basis the role will demand you take ownership of incidents from conception to resolution, increase the call resolution at second and third fix and ensure that the service knowledge base is kept up to date with known resolutions.

Working in the Support Team you will ensure the Application Services are operating within agreed Service Level Agreements, recover failed application services in a controlled manner and provide support to other members of the Support Team

You will have some SQL skills, analytical and good problem solving skills. Strength in leadership is advantageous.


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
You will represent the face of the Support Team when working with our customers so it is important that you have good communication and interpersonal skills. The role requires you to have good analytical and problem-solving abilities with a knowledge of the application development lifecycle. Knowledge of SQL (e.g. ability to write SQL queries etc.) As a member of the Support Team you must have the ability to think creativity around incidents, priorities actions and execute tasks in a dynamic changing environment. The Application Support Analyst will be self-reliant, professional and a motivated individual. You must be self-starting with a personal drive for continuous development and not be afraid to take responsibility of incidents or problems. In order to reduce the amount of disruption to our customers you will be required to work a flexible working pattern to cover early shifts (8am start) and late shifts (5pm finish) and there may be a requirement for you to go onto a standby rota 24/7.PowerShell scripting. Previous experience in an operational and in a commercially orientated and / or regulated environment. Leadership/mentoring skills.
