Job Description
The main duties and responsibilities will include:
- · Processing financial information on Sage 200 which includes processing of supplier invoices and bi-monthly payment runs;
- · Assisting with the production of monthly management and annual financial accounts;
- · Preparation of journals, monthly reconciliations and finance reports;
- · Assisting with timely monthly and adhoc returns to fulfil the requirements set down by Department of Economy and other external agencies;
- · Ensuring all internal and financial operations comply with both DfE and Consumer Council internal financial procedures;
- · Liaising with NI Audit Office, Internal and External Auditors, and other organisations as required by the duties of the post;
- · Procurement duties including liaising with CPD (Construction and Procurement Delivery) and administration of tenders between £5k-30k on eTendersNI portal;
- · Assisting the Quality Assurance and Performance Planner in reviewing of policies and internal processes;
- · Assisting staff and external stakeholders with adhoc queries;
- · General office administrator tasks as required; and
- · Any other duties as specified by line management.

The post-holder must also follow The Consumer Council values and Nolan principles of public life.
The security clearance requirements required for the Agency Worker supplied will be Access NI – Basic Security Clearance.
Mandatory Requirements
Essential
Applicants must:
1a) Be a qualified accounts technician with one of the following bodies:
- The Institute of Accounting Technicians of Ireland (IATI) or
- The Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT);
OR
1b) Be a part qualified accountant with one of the following or equivalent Accountancy bodies:
2) Have demonstrable experience of the application of MS Excel (e.g. use of formulae, functions etc.) and MS Word, or equivalent;
3) Minimum 1 years’ experience of assisting with preparation of management and financial accounts;
4) Have obtained GCSE/GCE ‘O’ Level at grade C or above in 3 subjects, including English Language and Maths;
AND
5) Have demonstrable experience in the use of a financial accounting system, e.g. AccountNI, Oracle, Sage etc.
Desirable
- Experience of using Sage 200 accounting software; and
- Experience of working in the Public Sector
