As a Construction Manager you will be responsible for managing and technical assurance of the construction documents including reports, programme and presentations used in the application documents and stakeholder meetings.
You will need a good level of health, safety and environmental experience as part of the role is proactively steering and formulating these considerations during the design development, and advising on appropriate mitigation options.You will be required to provide technical input on multiple facets of constructability throughout the development of the design of a project. This will be founded on a detailed understanding of temporary and permanent works construction techniques.
Key requirements of the role are:-

  • Understanding all issues related to the construction including temporary and permanent works, construction techniques and logistics
  • Ensuring co-ordination of construction activities with teams from environmental, consent, design, traffic and stakeholders for the purposes of design development and consent application.
  • Understanding of the programme and commercial impacts of construction approaches

You will have excellent communication skills as duties will include liaising with the project team and client operational staff regarding construction activity, during the development stage.We are seeking individuals with substantial experience of working within the delivery of capital projects and will come from a civil engineering construction background.
You will have a demonstrable track record of delivering a broad range of construction contracts at site level, you will be able to:

  • Concurrently manage multiple deliverables
  • Manage and understand construction planning and scheduling including float, TRA and risk
  • Lead digital integration of construction with the programme eg BIM and VDC.
  • Independently review potential design proposals and assess the likely impact and risks associated with constructing the works, under the supervision of a project/team leader

You will likely have an Engineering degree or Diploma, membership and professional accreditation with a relevant professional institution is highly desirable.


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Relevant experience of engineering projects. Relevant health, safety and environment experience relating to the construction industry. Excellent communication skills are essential. Experience of civil, mechanical or related projects – the role would suit an experienced civil engineer looking to transition into professional services.
