Job Description

Duties to include:

  • Ensure that all operations on site comply with the relevant legislation, work package plans and integrated management system.
  • To be responsible for the day to day control of all HSQE matters on the appointed site(s).
  • Supervision and management of site labour and any sub-contractors to ensure efficient and safe working at all times.
  • Continued and effective communication with the client and internal / external stakeholders on all project matters.
  • Progress monitoring and reporting.
  • Assess and report on costs, coordinating the procurement of arrange materials and equipment in a timely manner.
  • Identify any issues / delays / additional works as soon as practicable, ensuring that the Operations Manager is informed at the earliest opportunity.
  • Be responsible for the setup and maintenance of the construction site.
  • Consult the Health and Safety Advisor and Operations Manager if you have any concerns or feedback about the safety performance.
  • Be accountable and report to the Operations Manager.
  • Implementation and completion of site QA plan.
  • Monitor all subcontractors works and ensure work is completed safely, efficiently and to the required standard.
  • To carry out induction training / daily briefings for all site personnel.
  • To ensure as far as is reasonably practicable that access and egress to and from the site (or any part of the site) is safe and effective.
  • To oversee, as far as is reasonably practicable, that any plant, materials and equipment provided for use on the site is suitable and fit for purpose and that the relevant certificates, training, instructions, documentation and calibrations have been received and the details entered in the site registers.
  • Ensure site diaries are completed each day and that an appropriate level of information is recorded.
  • Ensure that adequate welfare facilities are available and that all statutory documentation is displayed in the site cabins.
  • Ensure that suitable security measures are in place.
  • Ensure any unsafe situations are controlled, stopped and reported.
  • Ensure all Work Package Plans are prepared and available in a timely manner.
  • Monitor working hours to ensure safety and efficiency.
  • Assist the commercial and procurement team with enquiries for materials, plant and equipment required to execute the works, and document accordingly.
  • Order any materials required in a timely manner.
  • Be responsible for the setup of the construction site.
  • Report any good practice or revised working methodology which may enhance the safety of our operations across the company.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
The successful candidate will be able to work successfully as part of a team and positively contribute to the everyday Site requirements for the Project and the business. The ideal candidate should be confident, self-motivated, able to work independently and will possess industry knowledge including the ability to read technical drawings, programme works and drive the safe and timely delivery of the Projects. Rail experience is advantageous.
