Job Description
  • Front of House service: taking orders, handling cash, waiting on tables, cleaning tables and potwashing. This part of the role requires strong interpersonal skills, a level headed approach and an ability to work well under pressure. The right candidate should be able to manage up to 15 tables at all times and will be responsible for the flow of service to all other areas.
  • Kitchen work: preparing a variety of menu items such as breakfast dishes, sandwiches and occasional dishes for unique events. Cleaning to ensure health & hygiene standards are maintained alongside other deep cleaning tasks. The right candidate should be meticulous in their approach to cleaning alongside an ability to work quickly and thoroughly. An attitude of excellence is essential.
  • Barista service: following a period of training you may be able to progress on to barista service. We are a specialty coffee shop and as such have certain industry standards that must be met by all of our drinks. This area of the job role will only be accessible to candidates who complete the training or have previous experience working in speciality coffee. The right candidate should have a passion for coffee & learning.
  • Bar work: depending on your availability there are also bar shifts available which would involve serving alcoholic drinks, handling cash, maintaining a cellar space and a small amount of pot/glass washing. There will also be occasional extra shifts for large events/parties that are booked. These may involve working late into the night or longer shifts. The right candidate should be flexible in taking on extra working hours and varying shift times (for extra shifts only).

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Be over 18. Highly efficient with the initiative to seek out work. Able to work independently and problem solve without supervision. Strong interpersonal & teamwork skills. Works well under pressure with diligence. Confident with a good sense of humour. A desire to learn & develop new skills. Easy going with a desire to help & support teammates. Have at least 2 years experience working in hospitality. Either a full driving license and car or live locally to Poppleton.
