Job Description

Due to recent growth we are looking for a bookkeeper with practice experience to manage a number of clients to provide bookkeeping and submit VAT returns. The successful applicant will be able to hit the ground running and have solid experience with cloud accounting programs such as Xero & Sage. Client communication and building relationships with our clients whilst providing accounting & support to our clients when needed is important. A good understanding of VAT including EU VAT and the VAT registration or de-registration process would be benefical. Knowledge of corporation tax and the ability to complete small business annual accounts to draft stage would also be beneficial.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Client bookkeeping and analysis of coding on cloud accounting packages The completion and submitting of VAT returns Reviewing clients VAT returns prior to submission Reconciliation of bank and cash accounts Preparation of management accounts Preparation of draft annual accounts to trial balance stage The ability to communicate with clients face to face, on the phone and via email Assist new clients and their businesses when setting up on cloud software, and the provision of cloud accounting training to clients Chase clients for their accounting records every month and explain deadlines for VAT submissions Communicating with HMRC Advanced IT skills would be a bonus but not essential
