Job Description

The Job

The purpose of this job is to work on all aspects of the company accounts including VAT preparation, running a small payroll, preparing quotations, issuing purchase orders, accounts payable, sales ledger, project support, CIS, organising site deliveries, payroll, supplier liaison, product research, working with subcontractors, price negotiations and phone work. The role requires you to manage your own workload and work autonomously using initiative, organisational skills and commercial acumen.

The hours for this role can be flexible with a core of 6 hours per day to be worked.

e.g. Either 9.30 - 2.30/10-3 etc. Or Full Time Monday to Friday 9-5.30

Salary is £22 - 26k per annum dependant on experience and hours worked.


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
· Will have at least 5 years accounts bookkeeping and admin experience in a similar organisation · Will have knowledge of Accounts Payable, sales ledger, raising quotations, payroll and VAT Will be familiar with CIS · Will be IT literate with MS Office - particularly good Excel · Will be experienced and confident Sage users. · Will have all round admin and accounts experience in a fast paced commercial office. · Will be happy to work alone in the office for at least 2 days a week. · Will have own transport and live within easy commuting distance of Wallingford. · Will be resourceful, upbeat, cheerful and flexible · Will be used to managing and prioritising their own workload · Will be able to adapt and react quickly, as required by the business. Experience in a construction business would be a definite advantage
