Job Description

This is an exciting role tasked with gaining specifications of Ibstock products with Architects and Specifiers, whilst also enhancing and growing relationships with key decision makers. The successful candidate will be tasked with promoting and securing specifications of the full range of Ibstock group products to grow sales of Ibstock’s high value facing bricks and architectural detailing components and services.
Key responsibilities:

  • Primarily develop and enhance relationships with Architects and Specifiers
  • Promote the full range of Ibstock group products to raise awareness and generate specifications
  • Maximum architectural presence at our London Design Office to add value to our group specification offerings
  • Working closely with internal design team to enhance Ibstock specification potential
  • Pro-actively drive the choice of products available to customers by factory location, product type and value to suit current business needs
  • Follow up all architectural leads and sample requests to identify potential of all enquires
  • Continuously enhance and improve technical knowledge of all group products
  • Developing and maximizing returns from RIBA initiatives and sponsorship opportunities
  • Working closely with Distribution Account Managers to ensure maximum efficiency from initial specification to project completion
  • Take ownership of projects from cradle to grave
  • Work closely with internal team and business development resource to maximize efficiencies
  • Use the CRM system, Glenigan and customer data to proactively target key projects and opportunities
  • Feedback and propose product development to meet current specification trends
  • Be able to work collaboratively across departments and with other senior managers
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Have the ambition and drive to progress within this exciting Group of Companies

Required Knowledge:

  • Excellent knowledge of the UK building products specification process.
  • Experience of proactive research tools.
  • Technical expertise of facing bricks, cladding systems and architectural design components.
  • Relationships amongst architects, contractors and sub-contractors.
  • In depth knowledge of key construction markets.
  • Know the influences on construction product specifications.
  • Understand the construction decision making process.
  • Developing and emerging construction methods.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Excellent relationship skills. Ability to proactively identify sales opportunities. Provide a consultative sales approach. Identify key construction contracts through excellent relationships and proactively via software such as Glenigan etc. Be self-driven to achieve, and exceed, set targets. Make commercial decisions based on profit maximization. Cross-sell products and services from across the Ibstock group and partner companies where appropriate. Sales tools- be super users of Ibstock’s CRM system. Working closely with Ibstock’s distribution team to ensure maximum efficiency and margin from specification to project completion. Ability to integrate and work closely with all stake-holders in Ibstock’s specification offering; Marketing, Sales, Technical and supply chain/ operations. An outstanding ability to work within a team. A proven business winner with evidence of strong analytical skills and strategic thinking Ensuring all administration relating to sales is completed effectively. Working closely with other departments and finding opportunities to cross sell.
