• To maintain design guide and related guides by liasing with other stakeholders as necessary identifying improvements to minimise construction defects and achieve value for money.
• Ensure Constructual Amendments to the standard suite of JCT contracts as appropriate are reviwed and kept up to date.
• To establish and maintain the quality standards required in the design of projects, includes technical input (pre-construction from RIBA stage 0-4 and construction RIBA 5-6)
• To assist in the appointment of consultants, contractors and developers including managing, monitoring and reporting on their performance, with input from the respective internal Project Managers.
• To manage internal Quality Control Inspectors or those employed as consultants ensuring the highest standard of on-site technical expertise, quality control and supervision on all development schemes within their remit is provided.
• To manage New Homes Customer Care Co-ordinator and support the Delivery Team on major defects/schemes which may result in contract disputes or litigation.
• To maintain regular communication and attend design and progress meetings at key stages of the construction phase including review of detailed working drawings, designs, plans, models and projects.
• Ensure works on site are being carried out in accordance with required Health and Safety standards.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Minimum HNC, HND or CIOB or equivalent in a construction related discipline. Thorough knowledge of building regulations. Background in residential construction. Working knowledge of Construction Contracts. Knowledge of site inspection/quality control processes. Site based Health & Safety training and awareness.
