Job Description

In this Burnley based accounts assistant role you will be required to work closely with the firm's varied client base including limited companies, sole traders and partnerships. The role will see you undertake bank reconciliations, prepare and submit VAT returns, prepare management accounts and maintain the sales and purchase ledgers for the client whilst bringing the accounts to trial balance; there would then be the opportunity to prepare full sets of accounts. You will be required to liaise with the clients on a daily basis via email and telephone and occasionally face to face in order to ensure all necessary documentation is provided.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
In order to succeed in this Burnley based accounts job you will need to have worked in an accountancy practice setting previously or dealt with multiple clients. You will need to be able to work to strict deadlines, be self-motivated and have a good attention to detail. On top of this you should have good Microsoft excel skills, be personable, passionate and be able to work individually or as part of a team. The firm use Xero, Quickbooks and Sage so exposure with this software would be beneficial, however training will be provided.
