Job Description

The role requires responsibility on the implementation of Mace Dragados safe systems of work, ensuring that the works are delivered to time and budget.

Key responsibilities

Supervise the construction works on site, instructing construction related personnel to ensure quality, timely and safe work practices.

Ensure safe execution of the work at all times and manage construction teams productivity on site.

Enforce the instructed methods of construction as defined in the method statements and procedures, ensuring best safe practices during all operations.

Plan and supervise the short term site works: requirements and requisitions, deliveries, installations, utilities…

Produce 1 week look ahead detailed programs.

Monitor the relevant construction works including:

Establish records: checklist and registers for the equipment and plant on site. Keep accurate records for excavations, reduce dig, concrete pours, reinforcement, etc.;

Checking and keeping records of delivered material, to ensure all materials used on site are in line with the specification. To include adequate checks on subcontractor materials;

Ensure that the works are carried out in accordance with the RAMS;

Support the site personnel during the execution of the works; and

Ensure that the area is clear once works are completed.

Produce and maintain daily record of progress of all construction activities on site (including personnel attendances, equipment problems, safety issues and improvements).

Ensure compliance with requirements outlined in the Construction Management Plan and relevant WIs.

Management and coordinate subcontractor’s works and associated documentation, ensuring effective use of materials and control of waste.

Specific Safety Responsibilities:

Comply with the requirements of Mace Dragados HS&W Management Plan and co-operate with the efforts to prevent accidents and ill health.

To take reasonable care for the safety of themselves and of any other person who may be affected by what they do or fail to do at work.

Provide health and safety induction to all operatives under their control, including subcontractors and the self-employed and to conduct a programme of tool box talks and method statement briefings, ensuring that all operatives have read the RAMS and they have understood it.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Construction Site Manager NVQ Level 4 (or similar) 3 years experience in a similar role in Construction sites and similar projects and activities. LUL and or NR Delivery experience Valid Sentinel Card Holder Preferable Have demonstrable good managerial, motivational, planning, team building and leadership skills. Have an excellent track record of project delivery - safely, to timescale, quality and cost. Computer skills SSSTS qualification. CSCS Card First Aid in the Workplace Qualification Fire Marshal
