Job Description
  • Leading Rope Access inspections on buildings and potentially other structures including liason with rope access sub-contractors and the planning and organising of inspections
  • Reviewing different potential inspection methods and developing an appropriate inspection methodology. Ideally you will be sought out to advise on inspection strategies including the integration of latest digital. remote and drone technologies.
  • Undertaking condition assessments and surveys of facade construction on a range on existing building facades.
  • Where failures or critical defects have occurred on existing building facades, investigating and inspecting to determine the root cause of failure.
  • Creating reports for clients summarising façade engineering issues and strategically advising on best outcomes taking into account the total context in which the client operates.
  • Where remedial action is required to the façade, assist with developing effective solutions and see these through from concept to implementation.
  • Developing a detailed appreciation, understanding and interaction of construction build-ups and their relative materials such as glass, aluminium, concrete and steel.
  • Working directly with our clients, building owners & Managers, Architects, contractors and supply chain.
  • Developing and training less-experienced Engineers within the Facades team in inspection methods.
  • Liaising with other engineering-discipline groups on inspection and design issues.
  • Undertaking site visits within the British Isles.
  • Having several projects running in parallel.
  • Undertaking studies, yourself and using your knowledge and experience to guide other team members.
  • Producing reports, sketches, specifications and correspondence as well as managing time and budget.
  • Planning and monitoring the use of resources on projects.
  • Reviewing technical submissions for compliance with design intent.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Have a Rope Access experience and qualifications. Be trained in varied access techniques (rope access, confined space, MEWP and BMU etc) to carry out a thorough inspections in a variety of applications. Have a developing knowledge of building construction, products and procedures used in remedial repairs.
