Topics and techniques, you have experience or knowledge of may include the following:

How to work and manage work safely on construction sites, including risk assessment techniques.

Relevant international and national legislation and regulatory philosophies, practice, requirements and guidance for nuclear licensed sites, including the importance of construction quality assurance.

Relevant construction site tools including testing, sampling and surveying equipment.

Design philosophy and critical design aspects supported by experience working on design projects.

Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015.

Project requirements including balancing time, quality and budget.

Commercial awareness including construction contract type, terms and conditions.

Acts as a nuclear professional at all times and supports a positive nuclear safety, security, quality and environmental culture.

Aware of site and worker culture, and how to adapt behaviours to work safely and effectively.

Aware of roles and responsibilities of different construction site staff and organisations.

Experience in the following areas would be of particular interest:

Nuclear sector experience including design, construction and decommissioning (including CDM, IOSH, supplier and contractor management) with an orientation to civil / process / EC&I, plant or safety case nuclear experience.

Experience working within manufacturing industries such as aerospace, defence or automotive or equipment (Construction implementation, plant or manufacturing experience

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Degree qualified in a related Engineering or Science based discipline, or hold a professional Project Management related qualification. Direct experience of taking full responsibility as an Engineering Lead, demonstrating accountability for quality, time, cost and technical performance parameters agreed with client. Ability to support the development of client relationships and to win work, or secure additional funding (as appropriate), through bidding/sales/marketing/presentation. Willing to challenge and be challenged to uphold the highest standards of safety and construction assurance. Assertive and able to communicate effectively and defend decisions in adversarial environments. Experience of leading and directing local and geographically disparate teams and resources. Able to motivate self and teams, deal with conflict and create a strong delivery culture. Hold a responsible attitude towards safety and security. You have been a technical practitioner able to demonstrate good engineering judgement and with extensive experience in using fundamental engineering skills; Experience of challenging projects; Motivated and driven to meet delivery/cost targets without compromising quality; Awareness of their own limitations, and using the help and support of others to deliver; Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the desire to develop others
