In this role you’ll be working closely with most of the Sweco business units throughout the UK & Ireland and you will have the following responsibilities:
Undertaking noise and vibration surveys, data analysis, computational modelling and preparation of reports relating to acoustics, noise and vibration.
Delivering acoustics consultancy for smaller scale projects and ensuring they are completed within agreed timescales and budgets.
Work on a wide range of project types, taking responsibility for specific aspects of projects.
Contribute to larger projects as part of wider project teams, and work with the project design team to deliver an integrated design.
Work collaboratively with technical specialists including other environmental specialists, engineers, construction experts and project managers within the organisation and within contractor organisations.
Providing technical guidance to a wide range customers and colleagues.
Supporting the preparation of proposals/bids as required.
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess:
An understanding of the relevant UK guidance and standards that are applied within planning reports for acoustics and Environmental Statements.
Experienced in the use of sound level meters.
Good IT skills, and working knowledge of Office based software, particularly using Excel for data processing and calculations.
Competent at writing technical reports, such as reports to support planning applications.
Able to plan and carry out ambient sound level surveys and other testing independently.
An interest in furthering their career in all aspects of acoustics, particularly with respect to building and architectural acoustics.
Experience in maintaining a good working relationship with both internal and external customers.
Willingness to travel and a full driving licence are essential to the role.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Experience in using the following Cadna/A, Odeon, and INSUL software packages: Experience in vibration monitoring and assessment. Experience in preparing fee proposals. A degree in acoustics or similar, or suitable alternative education (e.g. IoA Diploma) Membership (or Associate Membership) of the Institute of Acoustics.
