Job Description

 

The commercial department is responsible for the procurement of materials and contractors used in the construction process, for on-going costs and contractual management for the development.
The team takes the design information produced by the technical department and splits this into work packages. These are tendered to the market and contractors are appointed for the construction process.

They are responsible for identifying suitable suppliers and contractors and manage the tendering process to establish the best value supplier or contractor for each package. The team works closely with the technical and construction departments to ensure that what is being built is accurate, on time and to budget.

We look for people who:

• Will have a keen interest in the property market and a good level of understanding of the development cycle from site acquisition through to build, including an understanding of the current planning system and how the plan-led system is used in decision making
• Will demonstrate an ability to operate and thrive in a corporate, commercial environment, be well organised and methodical with a keen eye for detail
• Be highly numerate with a knowledge of residual valuation for land appraisals and sales valuations
• Will be persuasive with strong negotiation skills
• The role will best suit someone who is confident and can thrive in an exciting, dynamic and fast-paced environment with strong social skills who enjoys dealing with people

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Experience of high end low rise residential developments and a proven track record Experience in using Asta Programme software Experience in using Fieldview Tablet based management system
