Job Description

You will primarily be responsible for assisting with the achievement of fund performance and risk objectives for assigned funds and with the communication of fund positioning and performance drivers to investors.
Undertaking research and furthering the Fund Management team’s understanding of investment markets, investment strategies and investment products
Manager Selection
Assist in the identification of new managers
Participate in final stages of the manager research process to build understanding of shortlisted managers
Critique manager theses and other research materials produced
Selecting managers most suited to meeting fund investment objectives
Presenting new managers selected for inclusion within SEI funds / portfolios to the relevant ISO committee
Portfolio Management
Strategic Portfolio Construction
Portfolio design – eg, definition of investment opportunity set (ie alpha sources / investment strategies and securities to be eligible for investment); alpha and risk targets, investment parameters
Production of Fund Thesis and any other materials required for assigned funds, seeking approvals where required
Determining an appropriate combination of managers in order to meet investment objectives through the cycle
Determining the appropriate sizing of positions at point of investment and managing thereafter as market conditions and portfolio positioning evolves
Tactical Positioning
Undertaking research to identify key drivers of investment returns / relative performance
Identifying, measuring and assessing relevant metrics of key return drivers on a period basis
Tactically shifting portfolio positioning (eg exposures to alpha sources / manager weights) where investment guidelines and transaction costs allow
Constructing and communicating personal views / positioning within the IMU to assist in the broad research and portfolio management effort
Communication and Reporting
You’ll assist in communications with SEI business units, external clients/prospects, and others as required:
Assist in the production of presentation materials
Communicating high level positioning / performance / investment process
Detailed communication concerning the performance and positioning of assigned funds
You will possess significant experience working within the asset management or multi-manager industry


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Excellent working knowledge of investment strategies and investment markets You will have a solid understanding of investment theories and in-depth of knowledge of investment markets and industry trends The ability to be credible in communications with peers and senior personnel Ideally degree educated (or equivalent) with full CFA qualification
