Job Description

The role will enable you to further develop and use your technical skills, applying your expertise to help us continue driving forward in terms of both technical quality and service efficiency.

A typical week would include:

  • Leading project and technical design delivery and providing technical guidance to the project team;
  • Client liaison and report preparation;
  • Assist in the preparation of proposals within current frameworks and the development of additional clients;
  • Lead on Stakeholder engagement and identify and support in securing potential business development opportunities;
  • Training and mentoring of staff, especially more junior staff;
  • Develop and maintain project-related health and safety strategies, including risk assessments; and
  • Operate in accordance with the corporate health and safety, environment and quality standards and ensure the project team comply with such standards.

Other duties may include:

  • Contributing to task and resource requirements across the wider team to ensure delivery;
  • Working with, and providing support to, our project management team;
  • Line management responsibilities, supporting recruitment activities; and
  • Raising the profile of the company through attendance and presentations at technical and commercial conferences, preparation of papers and press releases.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
A relevant degree and are professionally qualified with membership of an applicable institution, ICE / CIWEM or international equivalent; Significant experience in sewerage & water network schemes or wastewater treatment & water treatment experience; Capability in delivering civil engineering design solutions to meet project Outcomes, encompassing: Feasibility, outline and detailed design of schemes including engineering calculations and specifications; Oversee and check the preparation of hydraulic system profiles and P&ID’s; Supervise design embracing 3D modelling software; Generate and supervise preparation of data sheets and equipment specifications, technical appraisals and plant selection; Site support during construction and commissioning including field engineering assignments; Design studies, safety reviews, Designers Risk Assessments; and Co-ordination with all other disciplines Experience of working in a Design and Build environment on multi-disciplinary projects; The ability to ensure technical excellence in civil engineering and design; Experience in the use of offshore resourcing to deliver projects; A passion for delivering in a digital environment, including BIM 360; A full UK or Irish Driving Licence (Essential); Good presentation, written and verbal communication skills in English; The ability to work on your own initiative on technical matters and provide mentoring to others within the team; and An appetite to work on the edge, and pushing the boundaries of, your technical comfort zone.
