Job Description

The role:

Reporting directly into the business owners, this position manages one Bookkeeper and will initially be heavily involved in hands-on process improvement and putting controls in place. Longer term there is a view for this person to step into a Finance Director position, where the role can then become more commercially and strategically focussed. The Head of Finance will need to be knowledgeable about e-commerce businesses and the various online payment methods that are used within these businesses.

• Full responsibility for the management of the finance function on a day to day basis
• Initially, involvement in more hands-on finance, inputting data and cleaning up the finance systems. This will involve creating better quality processes and standardising the P&L.
• Management of FP&A, MI, financial systems, cash management and financial reporting.
• Responsible for driving the forecasting and budgeting and managing the production of the monthly management accounts.
• Bank reconciliations, including the reconciliation of customer payments made through online payment partners.
• In the SME environment, the Head of Finance will play an important role in company decision making and be required to work on a range of projects within finance.
• Supporting the business owners with mid-term financial planning and longer-term growth strategy, including building out a finance team.
• Responsible for working on ad-hoc project work.
• Business partnering with other teams, including supply chain.
• Management of a Bookkeeper.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Essential Experience: Experience in a similar role working in a business that has an e-commerce presence (fashion/ retail/ wholesale experience will also be considered, as long as you have some exposure to working with payment partners such as Shopify & Klarna) Experience working within an SME Qualified CIMA/ACCA/ACA (part qualified/ QBE candidates will also be considered) Enjoys working in a fast-paced environment Excellent communicator Ability to engage with senior stakeholders Enthusiastic, highly motivated and ambitious Non-Essential Experience: Experience working directly with business owners/ entrepreneurs Previous exposure to working with a business with an international supply chain Experience using Xero
