Job Description
Key Responsibilities -
- Upskill and provide training to other staff across different departments within the business unit.
- Provide input in BU standard details and selection of preferred products in conjunction with the Technical Director.
- Undertake reviews of tender documents on Contracting & Development opportunities to identify risks associated with external walls/facades, roofs, waterproofing and external windows/doors.
- Development of a list of preferred products and solutions, including verification of third-party approvals, to be used across projects.
- Enforce milestone/gateway points on project programmes to ensure proposed construction designs are in line with business unit design requirements.
- Provide monthly audits of projects during inception and construction stages
- Assist with the collation and verification of third-party test certification.
- Management and completion of any Vistry sponsored testing using accredited test houses.
- Review and sign-off of project quality plans.
- Provide input into supply chain scope of works particularly those that include sub-contractor design responsibilities (CDP’s).
- Develop & manage compliance audit regimes for all live projects.
- Review potential modern methods of construction (MMC) for implementation across the business unit including preparation of a business case for use.
- Develop relationships with Vistry supply chain (sub-contractors/suppliers/manufacturers).
- Familiarise yourself with the Contract requirements/Employer Requirements and identify any areas of potential concern in terms of quality and/or compliance.
- Ensure site quality inspections are being undertaken (by Quality Inspectors) with areas of concern identified and effectively closed out.
- Support project teams to ensure systems and products used have the necessary third-party certification.
- Develop a library of product third party certification.
- Ensure lessons learnt are captured and incorporated into future projects.
- Provide monthly quality reports to the Board.
- Review aftercare defect data and identify trends and make proposal to mitigate/eliminate future issues.
- Ensure a regime is in place to ensure all fire door set installations are in accordance with the manufacturer’s requirements including, where appropriate, the FDIS inspection regime.
Competencies –
- Construction related further education
- Relevant CSCS card
- At least 5 years’ experience in the relevant field (quality/compliance)
- Experience working for a main contractor/developer/consultant/industry body
- Experience working on high rise building projects
- A thorough understanding of product certification & testing including British Standards, BBA, UKAS requirements, etc.
- Excellent understanding of third-party compliance requirements including fire/CWCT/NHBC etc.
- Excellent understanding of Approved Document Part B.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Construction/design related HNC/HND/Degree Member of Professional Body CIOB/CIBSE/RICS/IFE Experience working for a Developer & Contractor Excellent contract and commercial awareness Comfortable dealing with supply chain and product manufacturers.
