Job Description

The Opportunity


Our client's company is one of the country’s largest energy companies and the largest producer of low-carbon electricity, is looking for an experienced, qualified accountant to join their Corporate Finance team as a Senior Consolidation Accountant.

Each business unit within company has a local finance team and the Senior Consolidation Accountant provides oversight for these local activities to allow for efficient consolidation – providing assistance and in particular ensuring they are appropriately aligned with relevant accounting principles (both internal and external).

Day to Day:

  • You will be empowered to make decisions and will be accountable for the timely and accurate completion of the company package for reporting and planning.
  • You will be recognised as a point of reference, a trusted centre of excellence guidance by the differing business units/stakeholders.
  • You will support all consolidated financial reporting including monthly reporting, performance reports, re-forecasts and the annual planning process including Budgets and the Medium Term Plan.
  • You will support ad hoc projects/action plans as directed by the Financial Control Director, the Head of Accounting and Consolidation, and the Chief Financial Officer.
  • You will be accountable for the consolidated Reporting, Forecast and MTP packages in EDIFIS for EDF Group ensuring compliance with relevant accounting policies.

The Person


You will be a proactive, self-starter with strong commercial awareness and an understanding of key business issues, with experience of working within a finance department within a large corporate organisation.

The Skills


You will have a rigorous and organised approach to the production of financial information and good presentation skills. This specifically includes the ability to link disparate information, understanding trends and patterns which can then be turned into ideas, frameworks or proposals consistent with business needs.


You will need to:

  • Be a qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA), or equivalent with post qualification experience.
  • Have a strong academic record with good numerical, IT and written skills with an up to date knowledge of IFRS.
  • Have knowledge of SAP, Hyperion and ANAPLAN (this is essential).
  • Have drive and commitment towards achieving targets with good attention to detail and the ability to monitor own performance against expected results/outcomes.
  • Have the ability to adopt a questioning attitude in relation to information provided and the effectiveness of processes in place is a key competence area.
  • Have a good team work ethic as you’ll be part of a strong, collaborative team who encourage new ideas and support each other when under pressure.
