Job Description

 

Tasks for this role will include

  • Take the lead on/manage tasks as appropriate and directed by the Lead or Senior Contract Manager.
  • Assist the Lead or Senior Contract Manager to coordinate a multifunctional team of engineers, construction, and procurement experts through the engagement process for major procurement activities for a key element of the contract management, within one project.
  • Analyse market performance, and recommend strategies to overcome capacity constraints and provide for potential technology innovations
  • Consider a range of commercial engagement options while exploring opportunities to leverage benefits from wider activities being undertaken within the Iberdrola group and its JV partners
  • Support in determining optimal contracting strategies to meet key engineering, environmental and economic objectives for the project
  • Influence project teams to achieve the business’ objectives for a project
  • Understand wider project contract management activities and ensure that interfaces between packages of work are optimised to the maximum effect of the project
  • Network with the wider Iberdrola and JV Partner teams to identify potential lessons learned and incorporate them within contract management strategies
  • Develop and maintain effective contacts and working relationships with key suppliers.
  • Assist the Lead or Senior Contract Manager in the planning, preparation and communication of specifications for bids of the most critical elements, and in the negotiations to achieve the most favourable commercial conditions, quality, prices, delivery times, etc.

  • Preparing reports on aspects of the Supply Chain activities.
  • Assist the Lead or Senior Contract Manager to consider and recommend strategic investments in aspects of the contract management, including taking ownership interest in key suppliers.
  • Become the focal point and internal expert for one or more areas of specialisation within the contract management team.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Degree or professional qualification in relevant engineering discipline (Mechanical/Electrical/Marine Engineering/Naval Architectural) OR commercially orientated qualification. Experience of commercial management of projects IT literate with the ability to operate MS Office systems and other IT based project management software. Flexible to travel around Europe. Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English
