Job Description

OVERVIEW

Company's FP&A team is responsible for building forecast models, evaluating investment opportunities, and providing on demand financial analysis to the senior management team, in addition to maintaining a limited range of core finance functions (AP & AR).

 

Reporting to the Senior FP&A Analyst, the Production Accountant will focus primarily on supporting the production division – who produce content for a range of children’s brands. This will include production cost reporting, production tax credit applications, as well as ad-hoc analysis.

 

Other core responsibilities will include the review and supervision of the Accounts Assistant’s work, as well as supporting the Senior FP&A Analyst and the broader Strategy and Innovation team across a range of projects and initiatives.

 

The ideal candidate will have an analytical and inquisitive mindset, strong excel skills, and an interest in gaining exposure to FP&A and commercial finance work.

Responsibilities:

• Taking ownership over the production cost reporting process, including liaising with production teams, building an effective overhead costing process and responsibility for production of monthly cost reports for senior management.
• Maintaining detailed cost reports including budget vs actual data
• Assessing eligibility and preparing applications for production tax creditsMaintaining P&Ls and partner reporting for a selection of brands.
• Review and supervision of the Accounts Assistant’s work including checking reconciliations, invoicing and transaction coding.
• Assistance with the budgeting and forecasting process & monthly management reporting
• Assistance with ad-hoc analysis and projects

Candidates should demonstrate experience with the following:

• Strong excel skills
• 1-2+ years' experience in an accounting or analyst role
• Experience working within the Production space
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
• Ability to solve problems, innovate and develop new processes/improve existing processes
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
