Job Description

The Main Duties:

- To ensure completion of assigned areas of work within the time budget and deadlines;

- Preparation of accounts up to Trial Balance;

- Monitoring the bank account and payments of the business;

- Performing bank reconciliations when required;

- Maintaining the sales and purchase ledger;

- Raising sales orders, invoices and credits for Sole Trader, Limited Company and Partnership clients;

- Proactively liaise with clients and other third part stakeholders;

- Preparing payment runs;

- Preparing information for the production of annual budgets;

- Supporting with the production of monthly management reports for Directors; and

- Assist with ad hoc duties as and when required by senior management.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

All applicants will have gained a minimum 2 years of experience within an accountancy practice.  Ideally, applicants will also be IATI / ATI / AAT qualified (or equivalent), or have at least 3 years' experience as a Practice Bookkeeper.  Every application will be reviewed on its own merit.  You will also have the ability to deal with client facing aspects of accounting; have a fundamental understanding of relevant accounting legislation; and a competent working knowledge of MS Excel and other cloud based accounting software. This exciting position will be involved in client facing duties to support SME’s, their business owners and private individuals in the local area. The postholder will have a level control of the management of third party relationships as the business continues to develop.
