Job Description

The role will support the Continuous Improvement of time and programme certainty, consistency and accuracy of reporting, and management of process. To provide feedback and support both to the strategic decision makers functionally and operationally, and the projects themselves by guidance, advice and intervention where necessary.
Validate project programmes and progress from both a buildability and technical perspective via audits and hold-point gateways.
Critical and Near-Critical Path analysis, and identification of the true drivers of project performance by forensic analysis.
Monitor and validate project KPI's and validate RAG assessments to inform project risk assessment.
Contribute to the efficient way planning and project controls are undertaken by providing feedback on lessons learnt and process, and solutions to ISG management.
Identify and assist the management of project risk.
Contribute to problem solving both at strategic and project level.
Develop relationships with internal teams, consultants, clients and suppliers.
Support planners and non-planners in principles, techniques and software.
Ad-hoc support to key live and tender projects if required.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Outstanding construction knowledge in terms of architectural / structural construction detail and the installation and commissioning sequences of M&E services. Proven detailed knowledge of a wide range of procurement processes. Proven detailed knowledge of the full range of design processes. Proven knowledge of different Contractual forms. 10 years + experience of being involved in the planning process within the Construction industry. Proven understanding of planning & rescheduling techniques including Critical Path analysis. Proven understanding of the full project cycle and any relative constraints. Strategic and “big picture” thinker. Experience in different software applications for planning (PowerProject, Primavera P6, MS Project). Presentation skills. Ability to work alone from information and have the confidence and ability to back up judgements made. Ability to manage own workload.
