Job Description

You will provide support to the engineering planner to ensure safe, cost effective maintenance planning and execution of maintenance to factory assets and equipment. This is a key role ensuring all maintenance requests are collated, completed jobs are updated and tracked correctly and escalating any urgent priorities to the Engineering Planning Manager.

Our goal is to make great tasting biscuits, but without an effective maintenance plan for our bakery this goal becomes harder to achieve.

You will spend a lot of time using excel, assessing each maintenance request both reactive and proactive to create a clear report of all new and completed jobs per week and reviewing all completed notes and times taken for completion. Along with the input from the senior engineering team, a maintenance plan and schedule will be agreed and then it will be your role to upload these in the CMMS (Computer Management Maintenance System).


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
To be a successful Assistant Engineering Planner, you will need to have worked in planning related role before, while an engineering / maintenance environment would be a bonus it is not essential. As long the environment has been fast paced i.e. transport, logistics, supply chain, manufacturing planning experience will all be relevant backgrounds. This can include working in a skilled role within a manufacturing production environment. You will need to be comfortable in using excel as this will be where you will spend most of your time. They’ll be multiple internal systems you will need to learn, so someone who is comfortable picking up new technology will be key. You will be working in a very busy and high volume bakery, attention to detail is a key requirement in this role, as will be a pro activeness to improve processes. A strong communicator is essential as you will be communicating across various engineering teams and shift patterns.
