Job Description

Role Purpose

Projects and Fixed Assets Accountant, CIO/COO Division will be responsible in supporting the Finance Manager (Projects) CIO/COO in providing reporting and analysis to senior stakeholder to help drive commercial business decision.

Proactive management of key stakeholder relationships will be key to the success of this role.

Prepares journal entries, financial statements and reports in compliance with applicable regulations.

Role Responsibilities

  • Manage the Fixed Asset Register and balance sheet reconciliation
  • Support the monthly projects close process
  • Support process and control improvements and document processes
  • Support impairment reviews
  • Ensure reconciliation processes are completed in a timely manner to ensure accuracy of data and efficiency of production
  • Support the monitoring of intercompany and mark-up processes across projects and assets
  • Produce projects cost reports
  • Year end asset statutory note for COO Division
  • Liaise with Group Programme Management teams, Programme/Project managers to ensure project costs are recorded accurately following global processes
  • Support ad hoc financial reporting processes as required by stakeholders, Exco, business, Divisional Finance Director etc
  • Support oversight of offshore function in the production of management reports, and month close process
  • Prepares journal entries, financial statements and reports in compliance with applicable regulations
  • Periodically verifies financial data in compliance with Group procedures
  • Maintains appropriate internal controls over financial reporting processes
  • Understands and adheres to all financial and accounting regulations and legislation.


Minimum Requirements

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA. ACCA, or CIMA)
  • Proven track record of delivering quality management accounting and reporting
  • Experience of annual budget processes
  • Ability to deal with senior stakeholders
  • Self starter, able to take initiative and be prepared to take the lead in resolving issues and improving processes
  • Ability to build strong working relationships with global colleagues across a wide range of levels and business areas
  • Strong system skills and ability to learn new systems and processes quickly, experience of Oracle, HFM, Essbase, Hyperion planning a distinct advantage.
  • Pro-active behaviour that demonstrates initiative and positive work ethic to ensure activities are delivered to the required time, budget and quality.
  • Strong process orientation, with ability to design robust control frameworks
  • Experience of standardising and streamlining disparate activities into one standard process
  • Be a lead proponent of driving a collaborative culture and approach to working across finance
  • Ability to scope and shape role while adapting to fast changing environment
  • Ability to build strong working relationships with global colleagues
  • Maximises opportunities; i.e. challenges ways of working, adopts Group practices, seeks and provides information and clarification.
  • Effective oral and written communication that resonates with the target audience.
  • Utilises all available resources and toolsets to investigate and resolve problems and ensures the most appropriate solution is identified.
  • Strong planning and prioritising according to business needs.
