Organising and overseeing all health and safety checks and routine vehicle checks and adhering to both company and statutory requirements
Work with subcontractors to deliver high levels of customer service
Managing Drivers hours and vehicle compliance
Vehicle planning, scheduling and pricing
Ensure effective communication throughout the operational leadership team
Communicating planned requirements providing information on performance
Ensure driver licensing is periodically checked
Ensure that Health & Safety protocols are adhered to
Ensure that drivers comply with hours speed limits, overloading and tachograph laws
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Requires knowledge and understanding of all areas of the supply chain, budgets and financial controls, legislation and relevant fleet controls. Hold a transport manager certificate of professional competence You must have a good understanding of basic accountancy and be numeric as this position requires involvement in managing budgets and the calculation weights and measures Be able to efficiently work within a high volume transport operation
