Job Description

We are currently looking to recruit a Health & Safety Manager to join a new project. Reporting to the Health and Safety Director , you will support the development and implementation the project health and safety strategy by working in conjunction with the Project Director with a particular focus on engagement and critical risk management.
You will also be mental health and wellbeing aware.


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Provide advice on legislative requirements, industry practices and guidance, encouraging innovation and best practices. Implement the requirements of our health and safety management system. Monitor and audit the implementation of the H&S management system on the project. Maintain the construction phase plan and appendices and ensuring responsible persons are formally appointed and briefed in their specific duties. Assist in the preparation of emergency planning and major incident response for all foreseeable emergencies on the project Lead incident investigations in collaboration with sub-contractors, suppliers and stakeholders. Undertake HS Tours with Project Directors and senior project management. Participate in project Health and Safety leadership team meetings. Maintain records and reports including incident investigation reports, statutory authority notifications, inspections, audits, internal and external project H&S performance reports. Train project teams in the use of the MPX management systems and infoexchange reports/notifications. Undertake Occupational Health Intervention Tours on a weekly basis with MPX managers and complete online reporting of results. Establish and undertake an audit programme of sub-contractors. Support the implementation of the One life. One team. engagement and behaviours programme. Participate in High Risk Review meetings and ensuring that a schedule is prepared from the programme in conjunction with the Construction Director. The successful candidate will have a minimum Graduate Membership of IOSH. You will have extensive health and safety experience on large construction projects including lifting operations, logistics and temporary works. You will be a dynamic and driven team player proven to make a difference by bringing a positive and proactive influence. You will be self-aware and self-evaluating to exhibit behaviours that lead, influence, engage and promote collaboration at all levels. You will have experienced in managing and coaching others. Additionally you will set a personal example and influence others to exhibit the desired behaviours of a safe, considerate and respectful workforce and management team.
