Job Description
  • To manage the delivery of a complete range of standard Accountancy functions (including producing financial reports - performance, TBs, controls and OSP oversight, providing analysis of data, statutory reporting, etc.) as required to meet business and regulatory requirements
  • Manage to ensure all data is prepared and reported in accordance with relevant reporting standards and business reporting requirements.
  • To manage the processes to identify continuous improvement opportunities.
  • As required, lead, develop, coach and mentor others to maximize their contribution and ensure they are fairly rewarded.
  • To support the budget holder in making best use of the available resources ensuring services are delivered at a reasonable cost.
  • Design and monitor appropriate quality assurance controls to ensure the accuracy and validity of the Company's financial information.
  • Participate in and organize internal and external groups as required in order to promote finance interests.
  • Proactively engage with stakeholders across the business. Managing a range of senior stakeholders across the business.
  • Provide professional accountancy advice to multiple stakeholders (incl external) in a range of business environments, such as within a regular reporting cycle or within a project environment to inform business decision making.
  • Maintain a high level of business accountancy knowledge and understanding of multiple different reporting bases.
  • Ensure the accurate closure of the IFRS Oracle ledgers for the allocated entities each month end by the completion of key controls, analytics and MI related tasks.
  • Develop an understanding of the business held in these ledger entities to enable challenge on number reviews through analytical processes.
  • Develop an excellent understanding of the detailed accounting for the transactions recorded in these ledger entities.
  • Use initiative to suggest, and take the lead on, the development and improvement of Operational controls to maximize reliability and efficiency
  • Point of contact for internal and external audit in respect of allocated entities/funds.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with knowledge of finance operational and reporting processes. Technical skills and knowledge of accounting and reporting processes in a financial services organization (preferably, a life insurer). Leadership – drive staff to a common goal whilst holding them accountable for day to day delivery. Stakeholder management. Strong communication skills. Strong facilitation skills.
