Job Description

As An accountant within the team you will have a wide variety of tasks including managing accounting processes and controls, consolidation tasks and regulatory reporting. You will have the opportunity to work independently as well as within in teams to support the delivery of quarterly reporting targets.

  • Accountable for providing a quality service or product to customers and stakeholders, using skills/experience built through significant practical experience or training
  • For team leaders, accountable for ensuring the team the role supports is delivering a quality service or product

Key Responsibilities for this role:

  • Producing and being accountable for the technical accuracy of financial information to support production of IFRS results and the statutory accounts, Solvency II results and QRTs or MI systems
  • Carrying out accounting processes and controls to ensure the accurate production of information and document work performed to ensure appropriate audit trials are maintained.
  • Providing guidance and ensuring appropriate accounting practices are adopted in the production of financial information
  • Providing technical expertise to design technical solutions as part of change projects within Finance where required
  • The role will sit in one of the Finance sub-functions and will contribute to the achievement of one or more of these outcomes in order to deliver the vision for Finance.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
ACCA, ACA & CIMA qualified. Previous experience with statutory accounts desirable but not essential. Ability to work to deadlines and priorities workload. High level of numeracy and literacy. Fully proficient with MS Excel & Word. Good team player. Ability to work on own initiative. Previous experience within Financial Services. A desire to learn. Flexible and adaptable.
