Job Description

To act as a finance business partner to a designated service area of the organization.

Main Duties

  • To understand and be involved in the development of the strategic direction of the organization.
  • To work in partnership with the Operational Director and Heads of Service to develop an in depth knowledge of the service delivery areas and to assist with timeous and strategic budget preparation and advice so that services can be maintained and developed.
  • To be involved in business and planning meetings in partnership with the Director/HOS. Negotiate with key stakeholders and support staff to ensure agreed outcomes and timescales are achieved.
  • To work collaboratively with the Business partners within HR and Organizational Development to provide specialist financial support and information as required
  • To work with other Business Partners to improve communication, business protocols and business efficiency throughout the organization and to share specialist knowledge as appropriate.
  • As a Finance Business Partner work with the Director/Heads of Service to research the wider financial context and identify developments and changes which will have an impact on service delivery.
  • To support business development as necessary in order to make funding applications in relation to operations.
  • To demonstrate and share Christian love and support including by leading of worship in accordance with company policy, and by ensuring all staff meetings are opened with prayer and Bible reading.

General Duties

  • To undertake duties in relation to company Policies and Procedures such as Complaints, Discipline & Grievance, Health & Safety and Safeguarding as required.
  • To prepare and present reports for the Council Committees, Corporate Management Team and Senior Management Team as requested by the CEO or Director.
  • To effectively manage your area of responsibility ensuring that regular meetings, supervision and appraisal are in place.
  • To be a member of the Senior Management Team, undertaking relevant tasks and responsibilities within and on behalf of the group.
  • To undertake speaking engagements on behalf of company.
  • To promote Health & Safety awareness and compliance throughout the area of responsibility.
  • To undertake such other duties as may be required by the Director of Finance & Resources.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

This post requires the holder to obtain a basic disclosure.Experience at a senior level of financial management and monitoring. Excellent hands-on computer skills, particularly in all aspects of Microsoft Office. Good interpersonal skills and ability to influence change across the organization. A can-do attitude – a practical, delivery-orientated individual. A full driving license.
