Reporting to the Team Leader in Urban Design - Urban Design and Transport Planning, the role will be based in either Guildford or London, and you will be responsible for:

• Management and technical leadership of multi-disciplinary urban highway, transport and public realm schemes, including the delivery of technical drawings in line with company and client requirements as well as national standards and codes of practice. This is to cover the full suite of drawings at each stage of design from concept through to detailed design
• Leading collaboration with other design disciplines to ensure the integrity of the overall design
• Ensuring that projects are completed to client specifications, to budgets and deadlines
• Managing client and stakeholder relationships as part of project delivery
• Providing leadership and act as a mentor to junior members of staff
• Leading the preparation of bids for new commissions

 

 

• Appropriate previous experience of working in design and implementation of urban highway, transport and public realm schemes
• Development of scheme designs from concept through detailed design to construction design
• Demonstrable knowledge of current design standards, contracts, relevant design software and CDM and H&S regulations
• Project and people management skills with a hands-on attitude to technical project work
• Excellent communication skills and ability to engage with clients and key stakeholders
• Degree or higher in Engineering
