Job Description

An exceptional opportunity to join the Group Tax team of this Edinburgh based blue-chip global corporate as International Tax Manager. This is a fully-fledged advisory role which offers diversity and quality of technical advisory work coupled with exposure to senior stakeholders across the business.

Reporting to 'Head of', you will play a key role in supporting the international tax affairs of the business and will be responsible for:

  • Supporting the provision of a comprehensive international tax advisory service to the business
  • Supporting the provision of tax advice to the business on legal and operating structure reorganizations, and any alterations to the finance or capital structures of group entities
  • Supporting the provision of transfer pricing advice and support, including the effective implementation of, and reporting under, transfer pricing policy across the international group
  • Preparation of international tax risk guidance, including residence and permanent establishment
  • Maintaining and communicating knowledge of past, present and potential changes to international tax and regulatory rules, and considering potential impacts on the business.
  • The effective management of external advisors
  • Contributing to an effective risk and controls framework for international taxes for the business

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
You will be a qualified Accountant and/or Tax Advisor with a strong technical background in corporate tax; whether it be gained in-house or within an international firm of accountants. You will have demonstrable experience when it comes to planning and delivering corporate tax advisory projects. Exposure to international tax issues is preferred. The role requires a self-starter who enjoys managing and analyzing different streams of activity, with an eye for detail but an ability to stand back and see the wider picture. It is also essential you have the willingness and ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with business stakeholders, team colleagues and external advisors.
