Job Description

We are seeking a Commercial & Operations Manager for an initial 3 month contract in Edinburgh. As the Commercial & Operations Manager you will be responsible for supporting the Operational Management Group (OMG) in Programme Services (PgMS) and wider leadership team in developing and delivering strategies which ensure PgMS is self-funding and ensure income covers all operational costs.

Duties: · Work with Portfolio Manager, Finance Business Partner and OMG to ensure PgMS has an effective and externally focused commercial strategy· Ensure there is an effective self-funding model which underpins the forecast· Operational management of income delivery through working with PgMS Leadership team to ensure forecasts are accurate and billing is complete· Management reporting of key performance indicators · Co-ordinate portfolio reporting into governance forums· Lead service management and quality improvement initiatives across PgMS and manage the delivery of service improvement initiatives across PgMS· Contribute to the corporate responsibility for leadership, governance and achievement of SBU objectives and statutory and mandatory requirements

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

· Able to evidence specialism in the field of finance and commercial management within a project environment.· Ability to translate often complex or detailed information into simple, brief reports whilst highlighting any issues and meeting the needs of internal/external customers· Formulation and delivery of simple financial models· Knowledge and understanding of the broad framework within which the NSS operates. · Awareness of Quality and Governance frameworks· Understanding information governance and data protection· Innovative and proactive approach to changeIf
