Job Description

Key responsibilities within this role include:

  • Performing external CASS audit work to support preparing reasonable assurance reports to the FCA on compliance with CASS 6, 7, 8 and 10
  • Delivering CASS advisory engagements, such as reviewing the CASS control environments and reporting on areas of control weakness and non-compliance
  • Performing internal CASS audit work and providing subject matter expertise to the third line of defence
  • Keeping up to date with technical and industry changes as well as FCA developments in the field of CASS
  • Providing CASS training, both internally to colleagues and externally to key client staff
  • Managing diverse teams within an inclusive team culture where people are recognised for their contribution
  • Developing strong professional working relationships with clients and key stakeholders

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Qualifications: Ideally a qualified ACA/CA/ACCA or equivalent, or working towards the aforementioned, and having very strong and proven FS CASS Manager experience Essential Experience: External or Internal Audit experience in banking and/or investment management Strong and proven CASS FS technical skills Working knowledge of both the Client Assets Sourcebook and the FRC standard on Client Assets Good knowledge of the wider financial services industry and the regulatory environment Excellent analytical skills and the ability to understand regulation and apply it to different business scenarios Excellent interpersonal skills Proven track record of working on your own initiative Great coaching and development skills Personal Attributes: Personal value of delivering high quality work High level of drive for success, a positive attitude, enthusiastic outlook, agile mind and resilient in times of pressure A team player who collaborates and communicates with respect Effective time management skills and well organised Ability to switch easily between strategic thinking and detail The ability to work autonomously, take initiative and seek out opportunities to improve relationships and processes Desire for continuous improvement
