Job Description

The purpose of the role is to provide and deliver the marketing strategy to support drive growth and open business to the Royal Free Private Patients Unit by securing an increase of patient referrals year on year. The position will take the lead in all functional areas of marketing support aligned to the PPU Business plan, PPU Sales Plan and PPU Commercial and Business Development Strategies.
Key tasks will include, but are not limited to;

  • Directly line managing the Marketing Team including reviewing their annual objectives, conducting regular supervision meetings, recognising training and development needs, personally undertaking training new starters, facilitating the development of identified training and on going retraining needs, delegating specific tasks / projects as appropriate as well as monitoring and ensuring the team’s full adherence to PPU’s organistaional objectives, the trust’s current procurement, clinical governance and information governance policies.
  • Lead on the development and construction of specialist highly complex digital and non-digital marketing and advertising plans aligned to the PPU Business Plan to provide all required complex marketing and advertising support to the unit’s new and existing business across sites including launching new services and supporting new and practicing consultants’ private practice build up within the unit, working with the Business Development, Sales and Marketing Manager UK, PPU Director, International Business Development Manager and Commercial Manager with regular access to sensitive commercial data.
  • Responsible lead for the performance management of the unit’s websites and highly complex google Adwords campaigns Responsible for the production and ongoing update of all of the unit’s marketing and patient information related literature in liaison with the Divisional Director of Nursing to ensure clinical input sign off and update at all times.
  • To assume financial responsibility for the PPU Marketing and advertising budget across all PPU sites (RFL & Hadley Wood). Authorised signatory of bank team members’ time sheets, overtime payments and travel expenses.
  • Working with the trust’s procurement team, to lead on all relevant specialist marketing and advertising external providers’ highly complex tendering projects, signing off procurement requisition orders. Responsible for the ongoing monitoring of PPU overall marketing budget ensuring that it is consistent with guidelines and pre-determined budgetary limits consistently on ongoing basis.
  • Produce highly complex, specialist, advanced and accurate regular weekly, monthly and quarterly analytical reports on the overall marketing and advertising activities (digital, non-digital and out of house) as well as sales return on marketing investment in line with PPU's commercial KPIs. Provide critical analysis commentary and specialist recommendation. Produce speedy accurate ad-hoc activity and analyses reports as and when required by PPU senior management.
  • Provide regular complex market research and specialist competition intelligence input and analyses to feedback into co-developing the marketing strategy and relevant speciality plans.
  • To lead on all relevant marketing and advertising third party providers’ relationship and account management.
  • To lead on the unit’s brand awareness strategy and increased visibility; internally and externally working with the trust’s communications team.
  • To ensure all printed literature and online content adheres to the house style and follows the relevant Trust process for sign off before publication.
  • To work with the Business Development and Sales teams on achieving the annual sales plan via developing and implementing the relevant marketing plans To deputise for the Business Development, Sales and Marketing Manager UK where appropriate.
