What you will be doing in your new role:

  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting statements for Alexander Dennis Group and its subsidiaries and analysis for both internal (Alexander Dennis and parent company, NFI Group) and external purposes.
  • Production of holding company monthly accounts and group submission.
  • Coordination of day to day interactions and information requests for both internal and external audit cycles escalating to the Head of Financial Reporting as required.
  • Contribute to the preparation of accounting technical papers and development of policies.
  • Delivery of training on accounting and audit issues to the wider Finance function and business in conjunction with the Head of Financial Reporting.
  • Interrogation of ledger and reporting pack data to address internal and external queries.
  • Monitoring of the Alexander Dennis Group Capex budget and internal related reporting.
  • Review of Alexander Dennis key controls design and operational effectiveness for ICFR purposes in conjunction with Control Process Owners.
  • Work with the Control Process Owners to implement control improvements in response to internal and external audit findings.
  • Ad hoc projects and tasks as requested by the Head of Financial Reporting or Group Finance Director.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Due to the technical nature of the role, it is essential that you are a qualified accountant (CA, ACCA or CIMA) with experience in auditing, IFRS financial statements preparation and controls in a listed/large multi-site corporate environment. You will be a highly IT literate, being a competent user of Microsoft Office in particular advanced Excel skills. You should also be comfortable with other finance and business intelligence systems, such as Finance Consolidation packages and ERP systems. Alongside your core accounting skills, you will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and negotiate across the Group, on an international basis and up to Executive level. Inquisitive by nature, you will have first class analytical and problem-solving skills, always looking for new and better ways of doing things. You will bring a highly organized and disciplined approach to your work with a commitment to continuous improvement and shaping the future of the finance function. Finally, you should be self-motivated and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
