Job Description

As an Investment Manager, you will take responsibility for managing an existing book of investment portfolios on a discretionary basis in line with the decisions of Mazars Financial Planning's investment committee.

To contribute to the research of the MFP Investment Team and act as a product specialist in discussions with clients and prospects.

Role & Responsibilities

• Manage a book of investment portfolios on a discretionary basis in line with Investment Committee decisions and bespoke requirements of each portfolio.
• Act as product specialist for MFP's Investment Management Service including maintaining adequate knowledge of governance aspects of the service.
• Maintain operational awareness of the team's functions and contribute meaningfully to is improvement.
• Contribute to the intellectual property of the investment team through economic and market research, fund research, and portfolio management techniques.
• Contribute to the investment team's product and marketing communications through written and audio-visual articles, and by participation in web conferences etc.
• Present as a technical investment expert to clients, prospects, and internal audiences, and in certain circumstances maintain good ongoing professional relationships with clients.
• Contribute to the development of MFP's investment proposition both via the improvement of core services or introduction of new services.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Experience of portfolio management within a discretionary investment management environment or similar. Hold appropriate qualifications in order to be authorised by the FCA to provide personal investment recommendations. Demonstrable knowledge of the principles of portfolio construction and asset allocation. Good communication skills, written and oral, and a willingness to participate in client and prospect discussions and group events. Technical focus with a good attention to detail. Ability to prioritise workloads but ability to adapt to changing demands. IT skills commensurate with the ability to manage and analyse data efficiently.
