Working as part of a remote team, you’ll undertake site visits on behalf of a range of clients involving, mainly, domestic claims up to a value of £100k. You will be required to assess the cause of the loss, discuss outcomes with the customer, and scope both buildings and contents repairs and produce detailed high quality reports. The work will be on a “visit and release basis” however you will be required to engage and work with various internal and external specialists as a consequence of your visit. Excellent communication skills and the ability to coordinate various parties are essential.
Your key responsibilities will be:
Interpret insurance policies to assess and determine liability and communicate this to our customers
Identify building repairs as a result of the loss and create scopes in order to fulfill reinstatement
Undertake detailed questioning and evidence gathering in order to provide the customer with a range of settlement options
Identify fraud concerns and report them to the relevant internal teams
Carry out joint visits with building contractors, surveyors or insurance clients as required
Carry out underwriting tasks; for example, building value at risk surveys
Service additional appointments and in various parts of the country as a result of severe weather and surge events
Work from home, following logistical instructions from our appointment booking tool.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
If you have experience of working in the property insurance market this would be beneficial. It’s likely you will have some experience as a claims technician, qualified adjuster or working towards your qualification and be ready for your next career move. Self-motivated, conscientious and able to work under your own initiative as well as flexible during times of surge. Proven track record in handling property insurance claims. Be committed to gaining relevant qualifications for the role such as Cert CILA, BDMA and other courses we deem necessary. A high standard of building construction knowledge. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to write detailed reports and negotiate professionally with our customers. Hold a full driving license and have a willingness to travel around your region. The ability to recognize the need for efficient and effective processes and to follow these closely.
