Senior Accountant

Great 1st move for an ACA incorp. month-end management accounting, cash-flow as well as core statutory reporting. Looking for an ACA Newly/Recently Qual from mid-tier or if big 6 need to have prepared statutory accounts. Great career progression and exposure across the business.

Key accountabilities:

• Preparation of all UK local statutory accounts, ensuring the timely and accurate preparation of accounts in accordance with UK GAAP (FRS 102) with support from the FM.
• Collation of month-end management accounts pack (full P&L/bal sheet) for programming assets, liabilities and amortisation.
• Working with the Management Accounting team to ensure the accuracy of financial statements and ensure reporting deadlines are met.
• Ensure strong internal control environment identifying weaknesses in current controls and recommending and assisting implementation of new and improved controls.
• Regular cash flow forecasting, monthly bank reconciliations and weekly bank reporting for UK entities/Group.
• Key point of contact for external auditors and follow up queries as necessary
• Internal testing of all current SOX controls as required by Internal Audit
• Support development of current internal processes and controls to improve efficiencies and ensure compliance with corporate governance
• Monthly preparation and analysis of the Programme Asset & Programme Liability position for the UK Group
• Ad hoc analysis for the senior finance team as requested

Required Experience:

• Qualified Accountant ACA /ACCA
• Proven experience in preparing statutory accounts in practice or commerce
• Strong Excel skills
• Proactive with hands-on approach to ensure deadlines are met
